Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort
You don’t have to wait for the leaves to turn — fall festivities kick off in late August! Halloween Time returns to Disneyland Resort from August 21 through October 31, 2026, bringing new character outfits, immersive décor, spooky entertainment, and more.
Before the season officially begins, you can also catch the “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland park for a limited time from August 10–20, 2026. “World of Color – ONE” will also return to Disney California Adventure for a limited run beginning August 10 and continuing through the Halloween season.
Character Outfits, Pumpkin Décor, and Halloween Fun at Disneyland Park
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals will appear in Town Square wearing brand-new seasonal attire — think harlequin motifs, frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling confection details in orange, yellow, and black.
Jack Skellington returns to the Haunted Mansion, transforming it into Haunted Mansion Holiday. The ballroom will feature an all-new gingerbread house design, along with familiar faces like Sally, Zero, and Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Snap a fall photo in front of the iconic Halloween Tree in Frontierland, or browse the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, anchored by the giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. Look out for a new addition to the pumpkin ring surrounding the Partners Statue — this year featuring Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon as a nod to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular lights up Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America each evening with colorful villain projections. Maleficent, Ursula, and other favorite fiends take over the sky to a macabre musical medley — and on select nights, fireworks join the show.
For those who want an extra-special experience, Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour offers a one-of-a-kind stroll through eerie tales across both Disneyland and California Adventure, available at an additional cost with valid theme park admission.
Halloween Rides and Family-Friendly Entertainment at California Adventure
Disney California Adventure gets in on the fun with festive décor throughout — including Oogie Boogie silhouetted against a full moon, a swarm of “bats” bursting from the tower of Carthay Circle Restaurant, and the Headless Horseman statue greeting guests on Buena Vista Street.
Cars Land transforms into the “fa-boo-lous” Radiator Screams, complete with “car-achnids,” a “pump-kin” patch, and residents dressed in their favorite “car-stumes.” Spin through the fun on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park
- Supernatural spirits will take over Cars Land each evening for a haunting “Sha-BOO” moment, where the neon lights flicker on and illuminate the roads.
Beginning in the late afternoon each day, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark takes over the Collector’s Fortress in Avengers Campus. Team up with Rocket to distract menacing monsters and save Groot — just watch out for a few unexpected ups and downs along the way.
Little ones will love “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land, beginning August 18 — featuring Halloween tunes, bubbles, and meet-and-greets with Mickey and friends.

Halloween Décor, Character Dining, and Activities at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort
All three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be dressed up for the season. The culinary teams are also crafting elaborate confection displays for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel.
Don’t miss seasonal character dining if you want a delicious meal paired with special character interactions. Reservations will open on Disneyland.com later this summer.

Adults 21 and over can also enjoy a Halloween-themed cocktail menu at Broken Spell Lounge in Disneyland Hotel.
For an additional cost, the talented team at Tenaya Stone Spa in Disney’s Grand Californian can create a Halloween look with hair, makeup, or nail designs inspired by your favorite Disney characters — or indulge in a seasonal treatment like the Wicked to the Core foot treatment.
Halloween Movies, Music, and More in the Downtown Disney District
In the Downtown Disney District, autumnal adornments, themed eats, and seasonal shopping will cast a bewitching spell throughout the promenade. The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn will host movie nights on select evenings with screenings of beloved fall flicks, plus live musical performances.
Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit
Search for pumpkins featuring unique Disney designs throughout Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney with Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit! Purchase a special activity map from retail locations throughout the resort to aid in your search, then redeem it for a keepsake prize. Separate park admission is required to participate.
Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park
Celebrate the everlasting bonds of family and the spirit of Día de los Muertos with nods to Pixar’s Coco during Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure park, August 21 through November 2, 2026.
Entertainment Inspired by Día de los Muertos
Let the music move you during “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” as a traveling troupe of storytellers brings songs like “Remember Me” and “The World Es Mi Familia” to life. You’ll also be able to sing and dance along to live mariachi music at the Paradise Garden Bandstand.
When you walk through Paradise Gardens Park, take in the vibrant marigold arch, striking calaca (skeleton) statues, and a memory wall where you can add a note of remembrance for loved ones.
Food and Beverage Featuring Mexican Flavors
Paradise Garden Grill will offer specialty menu items just for the season, including the returning Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg served with chips. Stay tuned for the complete Disney Eats Foodie Guide!
The Coco-inspired merchandise collection includes a hoodie, t-shirt, and mug, all featuring vivid colors and motifs from the film.
Día de los Muertos Décor in Disneyland
Décor influenced by Día de los Muertos will also be found in a vibrant installation in Disneyland near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, displaying skeleton figurines known as catrinas and calacas, colorful marigolds, and other items traditionally found on ofrendas.
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
Discover even more spellbinding fun at the separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, returning select nights from August 18 through October 31.
This after-hours party for all ages is the perfect opportunity to don an iconic costume, collect candy, and enjoy access to select attractions — often with shorter wait times. The event runs 6 p.m. through 11 p.m. and admission includes entry to California Adventure three hours before the party officially begins, plus unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the party.
New Street Party, Rare Characters, and Trick-or-Treating
