Disney’s Blockbuster Summer Has Officially Begun — And Fans Are Losing It
Disney is officially entering its blockbuster era.
From Grogu and Spider-Man to Toy Story 5 and the live-action Moana, Disney is turning Summer 2026 into one giant celebration of fandom, movies, merch, and immersive experiences both inside and outside the parks.
The company just launched Lights, Camera…Play!, a brand-new digital short that brings together Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters in one chaotic crossover filled with surprise appearances and playful stop-motion animation.
And honestly? This feels way bigger than a normal summer campaign.
The Biggest Disney Releases of the Summer
Disney’s Blockbuster Summer is centered around four major upcoming releases:
- The Mandalorian and Grogu
- Toy Story 5
- Live-action Moana
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day
But Disney isn’t stopping at movie theaters. The company is rolling out massive collaborations across fashion, toys, collectibles, beauty, publishing, and lifestyle brands to turn these films into full fandom experiences.
Grogu Is Basically Taking Over Summer
Leading the charge is The Mandalorian and Grogu, which arrives in theaters on May 22.
Disney and Lucasfilm are launching a huge collection of products inspired by the film, including brand-new LEGO Star Wars sets, interactive Grogu toys, fashion collections, and even beauty collaborations.
One of the biggest highlights is Hasbro’s interactive Action Buddy Grogu, featuring over 50 sound and movement combinations.
Meanwhile, brands like Bath & Body Works, RSVLTS, Olive & June, Owala, and Ray-Ban are all releasing collections inspired by the galaxy far, far away.
And honestly, a Star Wars Bath & Body Works collection was not on anyone’s bingo card.
Toy Story 5 Merch Is Already Arriving
Before Woody, Buzz, and Jessie return to theaters on June 19, Disney is already rolling out new Toy Story 5 collections across fashion, travel, and toys.
Crocs is introducing a Jessie-inspired “Croot” boot, while Away is launching a full Toy Story travel collection including luggage, backpacks, and accessories.
Mattel is also releasing interactive action figures inspired by the upcoming film, giving fans new ways to recreate adventures at home.

Moana’s Summer Adventure Continues
Disney is also preparing for the live-action Moana release with brand-new merchandise inspired by the beloved story.
Mattel’s upcoming collection includes Moana dolls, Maui figures, and even a singing Moana doll that plays “How Far I’ll Go.”
Disney says even more collections are still on the way as the film gets closer to its July 10 release.
Spider-Man Is Swinging Into Summer Too
Marvel fans are also getting a huge lineup of products tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, arriving in theaters July 31.
LEGO is launching several new sets, including Spider-Man vs. Hulk Epic Clash, while Hasbro is releasing interactive masks and roleplay items featuring sound effects, moving features, and light-up lenses.
Disney also confirmed new trading cards, apparel, accessories, toys, and home goods inspired by the film.
Walmart is even becoming an official “Blockbuster Summer” retail destination with exclusive drops, theater-style popcorn buckets, and collectible Fandango tickets.
Disney Publishing Is Expanding the Stories Even Further
Disney Publishing is also joining the summer rollout with books inspired by all four franchises.
Fans can expect:

- The Mandalorian Visual Guide
Disney says the goal is to keep these stories alive beyond the screen and create experiences for fans of every age.
